Super Duper Tuesday

The primary results today will be interesting, to say the least. Unless there's a major upset, McCain will become the anointed Republican candidate. On the Democratic side, no one will win a clear majority of the delegates, but the expectation game and spin could make either Hilary or Obama the front-runner. Most polls have been showing Obama momentum, but the polls are also all over the place, so there is no consensus. I look for Obama to win a narrow delegate lead and to exceed his own lowered expectations.

Some political talking-head was musing about the aura of hope and expectation building around Obama. He warned that historically these charismatic leaders usually fail to deliver, and the bubble ends up bursting. He was advocating voting for Hilary, because her balloon came pre-deflated.
